AWA Australian Championship Tournament Begins!

AWA Australia Heavyweight Championship Tournament/End of year show

AWA Australia provided a great night of non stop wrestling action and a great way to end the year. AWA Australia gave a massive thank you to its fans with an amazing night of All Action Wrestling!

The show kicked off with Mark Valour coming to the ring with the stolen AAW Championship. Valour claimed that he was sick of being screwed around and he is proclaiming himself the uncrowned AAW Champion. AAW commissioner Ebinizah then made his way to ring the with a contract in hand. He explained to the fans that he too did not want NC Viper as the AAW Champion and felt that Mark Valour would be a much better Champion. This did not sit well with the fans as Viper is a beloved wrestler to these fans. Ebinizah then offered Valour a contract that if he signed would officially crown him AAW Champion. Valour asked the crowd if he should and he was meet with a choirs of jeers. Just as he was about to sign the contact Vipers music hit and the sold out Action Zone went nuts. Viper chased off Valour and took back his belt. Ebinizah then tried to jump the AAW champion to no avail and Viper slammed him on the matt. Just has he was about to hit the sidewinder he was turned around and was staring in the face of Mange! A 6’7 giant who has crushed anything in his path so far. Both men stare each other down and Ebinizah runs free. Ebinizah then books a match for later on in the night. Viper vs Mange!

The first round for the AWA Australian Championship Bracket One begins!

Dustin Dice def Percy to advance to semi final

Carlo Cannon def Murahashi to advance to semi final

The Shark def B-Money to advance to Final.

The first round provided fans with so much. Carlo Cannon made is AAW Debut and became in instant fan favourite. The Shark has fans worried when he looked as though he suffered a knee injury but then rolled up B-Money for the victory. With those results Dustin Dice will face Carlo Cannon in the semi-final later in the night.

It was now time for the Viper vs Mange match. This looked like it would be the battle of the big men however the odds were stacked against Viper as Ebinizah and Mark Valour put themselves in Mange corner. After Ebinizah tiring to cheat all the time, Jarrad Slate had had enough with the commissioners actions and ran to the ring and attacked Ebinizah with a kendo stick. This got Valours attention and he tried to aid Ebinizah by fending off Slate however this received attention from Viper and then attacked Valour and chased him out the building. The match then ended in a no contest.

Semi Final of Bracket one

Carlo Cannon def Dustin Dice

This match was showcased an amazing display of pure wrestling as to two battled it out hold for hold. After Cannon gained the advantage wrestling Dice proceeded to use his dirty tactics to keep Cannon down. Cannon managed to fight back and with the help of Percy and even managed to show the fans one of the most entertaining moves in the country..the sexy back!

Jake Paragon def MDK

Paragon dominated MDK the entire match and hit numours chops and stiff clothslines. Paragon proved in this match that he is not to be taken likely and the he will be a worthy Independent Champion. Paragon was sending a message to number one contender David Adams.

Jarrad Slate def Mark Valour & Ebinizah

Jarrad Slate and Ebinizah agreed that if Slate won the match he could have whatever match he wanted. Well Slate one..and now on January 5th Jarrad Slate will face Ebinizah in a Hardcore match!

Final of the AWA Australian Championship Tournament Bracket One

The Shark def Carlo Cannon

This match was simply amazing the crowd was red hot and popping the whole match. Carlo Cannon amazed us all when he managed to counter an irish whip into the wall..but RUNNIG UP IT AND MOONSAULTING! Something not seen since the matrix! Cannon hit is finisher on Shark but the ref was knocked down from an accident in the ring and Cannon pinned Shark for about 8 seconds before the ref started to wake up. Cannon checked on the ref then Shark took advantage and low blowed Cannon then hit the shark attack for the 1.2.3

Live AWA action on December 29th in Parkersburg, WV (Holiday Havoc 2007)

The First Ever AWA-MWA Undisputed Champion Will Be Crowned at Holiday Havoc!

On December 29th 2007, in the Parkersburg City Park Pavilion, at Holiday Havoc, Four men will compete in three punishing matches; Two Champions will walk in and One of these four men will achieve true greatness by becoming the first ever AWA-MWA Undisputed Heavyweight Champion. The Appalachian Heavyweight Championship has been the main title belt in the WVWA since its founding in 1996 and the current title holder being the fan favorite veteran Wildcat. On the other side of the coin, the popular rising star, Brandon Morgan has held the NBW Heavyweight Championship since their first show in April of 2007. Since WVWA and NBW merged in June of 2007 to form the AWA-MWA, the new company has recognized both heavyweight champions. However, that is all about to change on December 29th, 2007! Don't miss one moment of the action!

The first match of the evening will be for the WVWA Appalachian Title. The Champion Wildcat will defend against Wes "The Best" Lynch in the opening bout. Wes Lynch makes up 1/2 of the tag team "The Lynch Boys", with his brother "Awesome" Allen Lynch. The Lynch Boys recently made it to the finally round of the AWA-MWA Tag Team Tournament at Parkersburg South High School during the Rampage Tour with the match ending in a controversial decision. The Champion will be accompanied to the ring by his wife and manager Seductress, while Wes "The Best" will be represented by Sir Owen. Wildcat is a fifteen year veteran and master of the squared circle, and just coming off a big victory in Mannington, WV last month against the Legendary "Beautiful" Bobby Eaton to regain the Appalachian Title.

The second match of the event will feature the NBW Heavyweight Champion Brandon Morgan defending his title against Death Falcon Zero. Since May of 2007, with the aide of his manager, former NBW Commissioner Professor Danger, "The Siamese Super Man" Death Falcon Zero has been on a quest to capture the NBW Heavyweight Title. Professor Danger and Death Falcon Zero have made this personal by trying to permanently injury Brandon Morgan on several occasions. The worst example of the reckless behavior was on September 29th, 2007 when Danger and DFZ tried blinding Morgan when they ignited a flame in Morgan's face, right in front of the referee. Can Morgan hold on to is coveted title one more time or will Death Falcon Zero take one more step up the latter in his obsession for power in the AWA.

The evening's Main Event will be Champion vs Champion, Title for Title. After winning their first matches, the two victorious and exhausted grapplers will have to dig down deep inside to see if they have what it takes to achieve greatness. Both Titles will be on the line for this spectacular match, in which one of these four men will walk out the first Undisputed AWA-MWA Heavyweight Champion!

AWA Australia: Code Red Results

Code Red was an amazing night from beginning to end.

The event started off with an awesome display of high flying action as Murahashi took on David Adams and MDK in a three way match to determine the number one contender for the AAW Independent Championship. It was the rookie David Adams who walked away with the victory after it was all said and done and now gets a show at the AAW Independent Champion when he wants.

Dustin Dice and Percy's relationship took a sour turn at the last TV Tapings, when Percy made a $10,000 bet that we would be victorious at the event. Percy however was not so lucky and failed to pick up a victory now owing Dice $10,000. Since then Percy has been unable to pay Dice, So Dice gave him an offer. Double or Nothing! So at Code Red if Percy wins his debt is off, However if he loses he must become Dustin Dices Slave until the debt is fully paid off. To make things interesting B-Money was made special referee but that did not last too long as the Big Man Mange took him out before the match even began. Dustin and Percy fought a tough battle but in the end Dustin Dice was the victor and now Percy is owned by Dice. Dice's first act was the make Percy not allowed to walk and now had to Crawl Everywhere. Then as Dustin left and Percy was crawling backstage...Mange once again made is presents known. There was an incident during the match were former AAW Wrestler Craven got invovled and punched Dice. After the match Craven was summoned to the ring my the Commissioner and told he is not allowed to do that has he is only a fan now. Craven then took matters into his own hands and layed out the Commissioner!

Then night then moved on to our first championship match. The AAW Independent Championship. Jarrad Slate is the Current holder and has an impressive run as champion defeating many dominate opponents and has truly been unstoppable. But Jake Paragon, Slates former manager was not happy about the way Slate treated him a few shows ago but turning his back on Paragon and running solo. Since no one has been able to stop Slate, Paragon feels that as the guy that brought him into the business and knowns him all to well, he will also be the one that stops him and ends his run as AAW Independent Champion. Well folks at Code Red Jake Paragon did just that. With a little help from AAW Commissioner Ebenizah J. Klaus, Jake Paragon is now the new Independent Champion!

After what has already been a big night things then get taken to the next level. It was now time for The Shark's Chamber of Chains Match. For this match..Weapons were hung around the arena off a chain and were weapons chained to the ring posts. The rules of the match is... Well there is no rules and falls count anywhere. This match was off the charts as The Shark and Ravemeister put each other through hell. It seemed as though Shark was a bit hasty about his own creation and tried to keep Rave to the mat where he would try to out wrestle him and keep him down. However given there history Rave knows Shark too well and had a counter for every hold. After gaining the advantage and knocking Shark down with a back suplex Rave climbed the top and unchained his first weapon the kendo stick. Shark took many shots to the back with that kendo stick and Rave continued his destruction. Shark then took the fight to Rave and returned many of the shots given aswell as the use of many other weapons. Rave also managed to hit a piledriver through two chairs. After a back and forth contest Shark decided to take the fight to the outside and THROUGH THE CROWD! However that turned out to work in Rave's favor as he gained the upper hand. Rave then went backstage and pulled out a barbwire sledge hammer! He attacked Shark with that then layed him on the announce table. Rave then told the crowd to move and they did as he set up a ladder! Rave the went crashing down through the announce table as Shark moved out the way just in time. Both men are down at this point then Shark tells the crowd he is gonna end it. Shark then pulls out a bed of barbwire wrapped around wooden board. The match ends when Shark hits the Shark Attack through the wooden board of barbwire! Shark gets the victory in one hell of a match!

Now its time for the Main Event. The AAW Championship. Viper vs Mark Valour.
Viper won the AAW Championshp at Unleashed and its now time for his first major Championship match. Valour earned his shot at the TV Tapings when he defeated numerous opponents get his hands on a title shot. At Code Red it was Valour's chance to put up or shut up. The two battled it out in a very heated contest with the end result of things getting so intense Valour got himself a DQ. Valour not happy with the decision STOLE THE CHAMPIONSHIP and ran away. There will be questions and answers on December 15th thats for sure!

Quick Results
David Adams def Murahashi & MDK
Dustin Dice def Percy
Jake Paragon def Jarrad Slate
The Shark def Rave
Valour def Viper via DQ

AWA-MWA Forsaken Official Results - 9-29-07

AWA-MWA Forsaken was Saturday night in front of a crowd of well over 125 screaming fans at the City Park Pavilion in Parkersburg, WV. Here are the official results from the show:

1. Professor Danger(w/ Death Falcon Zero) defeated a Random Fan out of the crowd to win yet another Danger Challenge.

After the Danger Challenge NBW Commission Professor Danger called out Heavy Artillery which was scheduled for action later in the evening. The only member of Heavy Artillery that came out was the WVWA Commission Howitzer. His tag team partner Johnny Hard was no were to be found. Danger told the crowd, “You should always attack your enemy when they are at the weakest.” There has been a great deal of friction between the dueling commissioners since the MWA merger. He then told Howitzer that if he couldn’t find a partner that he would have to take on “The Kingpin of Sin” Jerry Bishop and Ryan Phoenix by himself later in the night. Professor Danger as stipulated that if Howitzer lost the match Heavy Artillery would be kicked out of the Tag Team Tournament even though they won their first round match at the last show. The Day Brother came out to the ring and interrupted Howitzer as he was responding to Danger. The Day Brother came out to demand their titles back after being stripped of them last month. They were told by Professor Danger that they could entire the tournament tonight and earn them back. The Day Brothers then pulled a Pearl Harbor attack on the Howitzer and left him laying in the ring.

2. JW Idol(w/ Braggin' Bryan Fury) pinned "American Crusader" DJ Skittles after the Idolizer.

3. In a First Round Match of the AWA-MWA Tag Team Title Tournament, The Day Brothers defeated G.A.Y. when David Day pinned Gorgeous J.C. after his partner Shawn Day hit the Frog Splash to advance in the tournament.

4. The Howitzer & his surprise partner "Violent" Vance Desmond defeated Real Ohio Talent's "Kingpin of Sin" Jerry Bishop & Ryan Phoenix. Howitzer pinned Ryan Phoenix after Desmond hit his lights out and Howitzer nailed him with his Ground Zero - Top Rope Legdrop. The match started off as a Handicap Match until Vance made the save & became Howitzer's partner for the match.

5. Viper became the new AWA-MWA Hardcore Champion after defeated Carnage, Damien & former Champion "The Aero" Buddy Carr to win the title. Order of elimination was Viper taking out Carnage with an STO, then eliminated Buddy Carr with the Venom Injector & finally got rid of Damien via a Small Package into thumbtacks.

6. In a First Round Match of the AWA-MWA Tag Team Title Tournament, The Lynch Boys(w/ Sir Owen) defeated The Crazy Carnies when Wes The Best & "Awesome" Allen Lynch nailed Joka Wyld with a Combination Superkick & Side Russian Legsweep to advance in the tournament.

7. WVWA Appalachian Champion Wildcat(w/ Seductress) pinned "Snakeman" Deven Michaels with a Rollup to retain the title. JW Idol was came out at near the end of the match trying to kidnap Seductress again almost costing Wildcat the match. DJ Skittles came out to with a steel chair to chase Idol off and save Seductress.

8. NBW Champion Brandon Morgan defeated "Siamese Superman" Death Falcon Zero(w/ Professor Danger) by DQ when Professor Danger shot a fireball into Brandon's eyes. After the match Brandon had to helped to the back to the locker room leader by his friends Vance Desmond and Howitzer, we hope for Brandon to be able to make a full recovery before the Rampage Tour next month. Death Falcon and Professor Danger are obviously will to do anything it takes to injure and weaken the champion in their quest for the gold belt.

AWA-MWA will return to Parkersburg during its October Rampage Tour at the Parkersburg South High School Rod Oldham Athletic Center on October 13 with a bell time of 7:00 & you can meet your favorite superstars at 6:15-6:45pm including former member of The Midnight Express "Beautiful" Bobby Eaton, Doink The Clown, AWA Zero-1 United States Champion Ricky Landell & all of your favorite AWA-MWA Superstars. Hope to see all of you there as AWA-MWA continues to bring wrestling tradition back to the Mid Ohio Valley.

AWA-MWA Featured on the Front Page of the Parkersburg News Sept 9th Sunday Paper

Local Professional Wrestling Alive and Well

PARKERSBURG — While far removed from their former days of glory, regional wrestling circuits are alive and well, including one based in the Mid-Ohio Valley.A group keeping professional wrestling going locally is the Mountaineer Wrestling Association formed last year by the merger of two wrestling groups, New Breed Wrestling in Parkersburg and the West Virginia Wrestling Alliance based in St. Marys.
Mike Howerton, co-owner of new MWA with Greg Shriver, said the group is affiliated with a national group, the American Wrestling Association, which allows it to bring in wrestlers for programs along with some locally based grapplers.
Shriver, who wrestles as “The Wildcat,” has been involved in professional wrestling since 1993.

“I’ve wrestled with the USWA (United States Wrestling Association), the NWA (National Wrestling Association) and the WWE when it was the WWF,” he said.
When he started, Shriver said it was possible to make a decent living as a wrestler with the various regional circuits that dotted the land, but as one group grew to dominate the field and the smaller regional circuits began to fade he said the ability to make a living that way faded as well.“In the late 1990s that began to change — before it was possible to be in shows four to five times a week,” he said.
In his time Shriver wrestled with some of the greats of the field like Jerry “The King” Lawler, The Italian Stallion and The Undertaker when he wrestled as Brian Anthony.
Howerton, who wrestles as “The Howitzer,” is part of the tag team known as Heavy Artillery, with Johnny Hard. They were the tag team champions of the AWA-MWA until they lost in a match with the Day Brothers earlier this summer. However, they may have a chance at regaining their title in the fall.“They have been stripped of the titles and a tournament is in progress to determine who the champions will be,” Howerton said. “The new champions will be decided in a show on Oct. 13 in the City Park Pavilion.”
Howerton said one area they like to focus on with the AWA-MWA is to help non-profit organizations such as schools.
Recently a show was staged that was a fundraiser in Marion County for the North Marion High School football team.
“In those we do a 50-50 split on the proceeds with the sponsoring organization and the sponsor also gets all the money from the concessions,” he said, adding the group is looking for opportunities to do more shows closer to the Parkersburg area.

“We have been speaking with local school organizations about shows,” he said.
Howerton said they are also working on getting a weekly show on television through the local cable access channel on CAS Cable.
Howerton, who during the week is an assistant supervisor at Exel Inc. and is the chairman of the Wood County Young Republicans, said that while some shows such as those seen on television are scripted, the MWA may have a fixed result, but what comes in between the beginning and the end is not part of any script.
“Many say professional wrestling is fake, but it isn’t; when you hit that mat the pain is real,” he said. “It is fixed, but it’s not fake.”
Howerton said he may spend an entire Sunday in bed recovering from shows that took place Thursday, Friday and Saturday. He has been injured a few times when a slam is done wrong or a thrown punch manages to connect in the face.
Howerton said the training facility, known as the AWA-MWA Wrestling University, is located in a former garage near the corner of Eighth and Avery streets in Parkersburg.
“We have guys who come up to us and say they’d like to wrestle, but after one or two training sessions we may never see them again,” he said. “They are amazed at how much it can hurt and how hard they have to work.”

AWA-MWA Star Doing the Extraordinary

The Stars of the AWA-MWA are out in the community doing extraordinary things. The Picture on the left is of AWA-MWA Promoter and Wrestler Mike Howerton (a.k.a The Howitzer) crossing the finish line of the 2007 Parkersburg News and Sentinel Half Marathon. Not only is Mike in excellent shape inside the ring, but he shows tremendous mental and physical endurance outside the ring as well. The Half Marathon is a 13.1 mi (20k) race around the city of Parkersburg, WV. This was Mike's third straight year running the race and he is making plans to keep the streak alive next year.
Howerton commented, "Not only is the race physically demanding, but it also requires the mental discipline to dig down deep inside and keep going. I think when Indy wrestlers train hard and keep their bodies in great shape it helps maintain the credibility of our great sport and our in ring performances."
